TYCS is a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee. We are a charity, with a constitution that reflects a benevolent purpose focused on enabling young people to find pathways away from dependency, away from crime and away from disadvantage. Pathways that enable them to participate in the community and live independent lives.
We host 3 key community skate events each year. The Dicky Beach Bash, Battle for Nambour, and Alex Air Time as well as additional community days and activations.

Dicky Beach Bash
Our first of now 3 Annual Community Skatepark Days!
The original event in 2021 was the open day for the NEW Dicky Beach Skatepark off the back of the “Save Dicky Beach Skatepark” community initiative, when the community came together to advocate for the skatepark to stay in its original location and not be relocated to one less desirable.
The now Dicky Beach Bash is a Party! The park, being located by the ocean and the skatepark design lending itself to fun and more casual skateboarding experience, really sets the good vibes tone.
This celebration of COMMUNITY skateboarding on the Sunshine Coast, like all our Community Skatepark Days is a FREE EVENT and a great day out for keen beginners, young competitors old skate dawgs and their families.
Make some new skateboarding friends, cheer on your mates and maybe win a prize or two for your skateboarding or attendance efforts are all on the cards as participants engage in a range of free divisions.

Battle For Nambour
Our second of 3 Annual Community Skatepark Days!
The very first Battle for Nambour went down in 2023 and has been rematched ever year since!
Conceived at the requested of a Nambour skatepark local who attended a Dicky Beach Bash “Can we do this at Nambour?” This events highlights and celebrates the grass roots individuals and skate culture that goes to battle in the streets.
The architectural design of the skatepark pays respect to the days of old, as you enter from the streets your confronted by the enormous 35-tonne rusty sugar mill proceeding cogs sculpture and being across from the Nambour RSL the skatepark shares its space in horning our services men and women with its memorial space for veterans. The street style skate terrain is tough to skate and produced a high level of skateboarding abilities on display as the big boys go to battle at the end of the day in hopes to become victorious and etch their name into the events history as that years 1 and only donned “Battle Commander”
This community celebration of street style skateboarding in Nambour, like all our Community Skatepark Days, is a FREE EVENT and a great day out for keen beginners, young competitors, seasoned skateboarders and their families.
Make some new skateboarding friends, cheer on your mates and maybe battle it out with the best of skate soldiers to be clench the coveted title “Battle Commander”

Alex Air Time launched in 2025 as the latest addition to our collection of FREE community skate events across the Sunshine Coast!
Built off the success of Dicky Beach Bash and Battle for Nambour, this event brings MAIN STAGE energy to Sunshine Coast’s Premier Skatepark.
Alexandra Headland Skatepark planted on prime realestate atop the famous Alex Headland Beach is enveloped by walk ways that traffic local and visiting beach goers past the skatepark as skaters blast skyward and blow the minds of the un-expecting onlookers.
ALEX being a main stage for skateboarding on the Sunshine Coast lends itself to showcasing the BIG time talent of our local bowl skateboards.
Alex Air Time is all about next level elevation — BIG airs, BIG hype and BIG community vibes.
This community celebration of BIG BOWL style skateboarding at Alex, like all our Community Skatepark Days, is a FREE EVENT and a great day out for keen beginners, young competitors, seasoned high flyers and their families.
Make some new skateboarding friends, cheer on your mates, and maybe get some serious AIR TIME to secure yourself a Joy Ride Helicopter Flight over the Stunning Sunshine Coast.

Trinity Youth and Community Services runs several community skateboarding events throughout the year that bring young people together, encourage participation in sport, and create positive youth-focused environments on the Sunshine Coast.
Alex Air Time is a community skate event held at the Alex Skate Park that focuses on fun, participation and progression. The day typically includes skate coaching sessions, open skate jams, and opportunities for young skaters of all levels to get involved, meet mentors, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Battle For Nambour is a skatepark competition held at the Nambour Memorial Skate Park. The event combines free skate lessons for beginners with a structured competition for youth riders, finishing with a crowd-favourite Best Trick Jam where skaters showcase their skills and compete for prizes and community recognition.
Dicky Beach Bash is a community skatepark day at the Dicky Beach Skate Park that celebrates local skate culture and community connection. The event features skate competitions for different age groups, free skate lessons for beginners, and a fun, festival-style atmosphere that brings together young riders, families, and the wider community.
Together, these events create opportunities for young people to stay active, develop skills, build friendships, and feel connected to their local community through skateboarding and positive youth engagement.

Yes. Trinity Youth and Community Services events are open to the community and designed to be welcoming for people of all skill levels. Whether someone is completely new to skateboarding or an experienced rider, there are opportunities to get involved.
All events include free skate lessons for beginners, giving young people a chance to try skateboarding in a safe and supportive environment with experienced coaches. For those who are more confident on a skateboard, these events also feature community competitions and skate jams where riders can showcase their skills and have fun with friends.
While the events focus on creating positive opportunities for young people, families and community members are encouraged to come along, watch, and be part of the atmosphere. Some competitions have age divisions or limited spots, so participants are asked to register ahead of time.
